You are sitting in your living room and suddenly the BORING news comes on. Blah, something about a cliff. The next day, you get no allowance. What? This is called the Fiscal Cliff. You may think that this is a bunch of adult stuff, but it affects you also. Your parents would start asking for your money to buy food, clothes, ect. Because they would pay even MORE taxes then they already do; two percent of what they earn to add about $700 in taxes yearly. So forget about Six Flags. While everyone in the government bickers about that “boring stuff”, you are losing your college fund. Even worse, your dad comes home and doesn’t go back to work. Looks like you’ll be working. But thanks to a so-called compromise, we avoided that terrible future. But don’t think everything is hunky-dory; taxes still rise a bit for the middle class. Not much, but noticeable. But taxes do go up for the rich so everything is a bit better. Sorry if we bored you with this “long” and “boring” message. But now you know that all that “boring” things on the news is just for adults.
Be prepared for the MHMS reproduction of Disney’s The Little Mermaid! There will be three showtimes; 7p.m. on March 8, and at 2p.m. & 7p.m. on March 9. Place of performance; the MHMS cafeteria.
Assessment Concert and Workshop
This is big! On Tuesday, March 19, there will be an assessment concert and workshop for all wind ensemble members. “You better do your best!”, says a reporter from the Murray Hill Times. Now, go get em’ you brilliant performers.
